About

I am a professional blogger, pastor and author of Divine Providence. I help pastors and leaders stay motivated with clear thinking so that they are equipped to succeed in their family, ministries and life.

This is my personal blog and because of my desire to equip church leaders for success in their calling I write in several topics: Devotionals (Christian Living), Leadership, Productivity and other things that I think may interest my readers. I’ve been blogging here since 2009.

I also have a podcast called, CrossTALKThis podcast is designed to give you biblical teaching that will carry you through your week. Think of it as a mid-week sermon. I also cover leadership principles within the podcast.

I believe in people succeeding in life and if you are a leader or lay-leader in your church, this blog is for you. There are timely, biblical principles you can glean from. If you are a pastor, let this blog serve as leverage to help you succeed.

I typically post three times a week–but if I don’t manage to get all three  in during the week, take a look around or visit my archive page. If you don’t want to miss anything use the RSS feed or use the email feature on the side bar to subscribe.

 Q&A With the Author:

What do you do when you are not writing?
I work as a Pastor and Media Director at Life Church in Eden Prairie, MN

When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?
I seriously began writing after I graduated college in ’06. I finished the first draft of Divine Providence in 2008 and published it in 2010.

Do you have any nervous twitches you do when you sit down to write?
I bite on my goatee.

What’s the one thing you have to eat when writing?
Coffee – though that’s not a food – I have to be eating Jalapeño kettle chips.

Early bird or night owl?
Night Owl

Miracle Whip or Mayo?
Miracle Whip

Vanilla or chocolate?
Skittles – does that count?

Where do you get your ideas?
A lot of ideas come from life circumstances or questions about life and I also draw my ideas from scripture. The Holy Spirit gives me a verse and a story emerges from it.

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Keep writing! Don’t stop writing. Take a moment each day and jot your thoughts down, even if those thoughts never make it into a published form, jot them down. The more you write, the better you become. But, the more you read, the better you write! So, read and write, that’s all there is to it. Good luck!
